Pauline Weston Bursary

KAAAV established the Pauline Weston Bursary to support educational opportunities for paid or unpaid managers of volunteers from local non-profit/charitable organizations to take advantage of:

  • conferences
  • workshops
  • courses
  • other training focused on management of volunteers

It is the expectation that those receiving support will transfer the knowledge gained, with KAAAV (i.e. brief presentation at a monthly meeting) and to others within their organizations or communities.

History of the Pauline Weston Bursary

Renaming the K.A.A.A.V Bursary the "Pauline Weston Bursary" in 2010 not only pays tribute to a selfless, dedicated and compassionate woman, but puts greater meaning behind the purpose and importance of the Bursary. It is in the passing of such a sincere and wonderful individual, that we are reminded of what "good" is being done around us.

Pauline was a dedicated mother, volunteer, treasured K.A.A.A.V member and friend to many. She volunteered as the Coordinator of the Special Olympics in Kingston - a huge undertaking. Pauline brought such commitment, energy and spirit to her position and it showed every time she spoke of the Special Olympics.
